‘Disabled students need not pay fees’

The Higher Education department has warned of stringent action against aided and government colleges if they are found collecting special fees from differently abled students.

In a circular issued on Tuesday, the department referred to government orders issued in 2008 and in 2010 advising colleges against collecting the special fees.

T. Wilson, president, Tamil Nadu Association for the Rights of All Types of Differently Abled and Caregivers has welcomed the circular.
