A team of students from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM – Kancheepuram) at Melakottaiyur has bagged the second place in the European Rover Challenge 2023 in Poland. This was the only team representing the country at the event and finished second in the qualifier round held virtually, according to a press release. According to the IIITDM officials, Mars Team’s light weight model had a “stereo vision camera”. Also, the institute’s Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) Society’s Team Nira has qualified for the MATE-ROV World Championship Internationals being held at Longmont, Colorado, U.S.
