I-T searches continue in Karur for sixth day

The searches by officials of the Income Tax Department on the premises of individuals who were linked to Tamil Nadu Minister for Electricity, Excise and Prohibition V. Senthilbalaji and his brother Ashok Kumar continued for the sixth consecutive day in Karur on Wednesday.

Firm searched

The premises of Sankar Anand Infra, a company engaged in executing government contracts, the residence of Sobana, an accountant of Sankar Anand Infra, at Gandhigramam, and the premises of an auditor at Vaiyapuri Nagar were among the locations where the Income Tax searches were carried out.

The Income Tax officials were also said to have visited the branch of a bank in Karur to look into the financial transactions of individuals who had been subjected to questioning.
