Sowjanya Bavisetti stayed on course for a title, beating Jia-Qi Kang of China 6-1, 7-6(5), in the semifinals of the $10,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament at Anning, China, on Saturday.

There was more success for the Indian players, as Sharrmadaa Baluu and Tadeja Majeric of Slovenia won the doubles title, beating Natasha Palha and Vlada Ekshibarova of Uzbekistan, in the final of the $25,000 ITF women’s tournament in Fergana, Uzbekistan.

The results: $10,000 ITF women, Anning, China: Singles (semifinals): Sowjanya Bavisetti bt Jian-Qi Kang (Chn) 6-1, 7-6(5).

$25,000 ITF women, Fergana, Uzbekistan: Doubles (final): Tadeja Majeric (Slo) & Sharrmadaa Baluu bt Vlada Ekshibarova (Uzb) & Natasha Palha 7-5, 6-3.

$10,000 ITF women, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt: Singles (quarterfinals): Sri Vaishnavi Peddi Reddy bt Martina Pradova (Cze) 6-1, 6-0; Rishika Sunkara bt Susan Bandecchi (Sui) 6-3, 5-7, 6-4; Doubles (semifinals): Olga Parres Azcoitia (Esp) & Prarthana Thombare bt Zuzanna Maciejewska (Pol) & Constanze Stepan (Ger) 7-6(3), 6-0; Eva Wacanno (Ned) & Rishika Sunkara bt Irene Lavino & Anna Turati (Ita) 6-0, 7-6(8).
