Rutuja in doubles quarterfinals

Rutuja Bhosale had a good start in the $60,000 ITF women’s tennis here, as she won the doubles pre-quarterfinals with Peangtarn Plipuech of Thailand. Rutuja and Peangtarn beat Mia Kupres and Marina Stakusic of Canada 6-2, 6-3.

In the Challenger in Peru, sixth seed Sumit Nagal was beaten 6-1, 6-4 by Orlando Luz of Brazil in the second round, after a bye in the first.

In the Challenger in China, Vishnu Vardhan and Toshihide Matsui of Japan beat the fourth seeds Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul of France in straight sets.
