Rishabh Agarwal and Ambika Pande clinched the boys and girls' titles respectively in the ITF grade ‘V' junior tennis tournament in Amman, Jordan.
The unseeded Rishabh beat the seventh-seeded Sergey Dorozhkin of Russia 7-5, 6-0 in the final. He had dismissed the fifth-seeded Jabor Mohammed Ali Mutawa of Qatar 6-2, 6-0 in the semifinals, after fighting his way past the fourth-seeded Yezan Abu Dayeh of Jordan 2-6, 7-5, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.
Ambika, who had won the singles title the previous week in a grade ‘IV' event in Canada, beat compatriot Simran Kaur Sethi 6-3, 6-3 in the final.
The third-seeded Ambika beat Katherine Whiteaway of Britain 7-6(4), 6-2 in the semifinals, while the fifth-seeded Simran Kaur had struggled past Nayanika Devi Reddy 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in the same round.
In doubles, the second-seeded Ambika and Simran lost in the semifinals 4-6, 7-6(9), 10-8 to the fourth-seeded Margaux Deagostini of Switzerland and Nancy Karaky of Lebanon.
