Renne stars for India

Renne Singla won both her matches to help India beat Sri Lanka 2-1 in its last league match of the Asia Oceania world juniors under-14 tennis tournament on Wednesday.

In the play-off match for the ninth to 16th spots, India will play Uzbekistan.

Chinese Taipei, Australia, Japan, Philippines, Korea, China, New Zealand and Thailand progressed to the quarterfinals.

The results (league): India bt Sri Lanka 2-1 (Renne Singla bt Heshani Imanga 6-0, 6-1; Sanjana Sirimalla lost to Anjalika Kurera 3-6, 1-6; Renne Singla & Naisha Srivastav bt Heshani Imanga & Anjalika Kurera 6-4, 6-4).
