Mitsuhashi and Ranjeet dominate

Top seed Junn Mitsuhashi of Japan and second seed V.M. Ranjeet notched up comfortable wins to lead the dominance of seeds in the first round of the $10,000 ITF men's Futures tennis tournament at the Jaidip Mukerjea Tennis Academy here on Tuesday.

Mitsuhashi powered past India's Rajat Maheshwari conceding just four games.

Ranjeet prevailed over qualifier and compatriot Elwin Antony 6-3, 6-2.

Ranjeet takes on the unseeded Peranamallur Vignesh, who got the better of qualifier Ronak Manuja in a protracted three-setter, in the pre-quarterfinals on Wednesday.

The only resistance came from Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash who stretched third seeded N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth.
