India has got a bye and will need to win only one match at home to make it to the World Group play-off in the Davis Cup tennis competition next year.
In the draw made in Bangkok on Thursday, India was seeded ahead of Australia, in the seven-member group ‘I' of the Asia-Oceania zone.
India will play the winner of the match between New Zealand and Uzbekistan, at home in the second and final round of the regional competition from April 6 to 8. India has a 3-3 win-loss record against New Zealand and a 2-1 record against Uzbekistan.
