Clijsters eliminated in her last Wimbledon

Kim Clijsters played her last Wimbledon match, losing in straight sets to eighth-seeded Angelique Kerber of Germany in the fourth round.

Clijsters is retiring after this year’s U.S. Open and went out with a whimper on Court 3, winning just two games as Kerber overpowered her 6-1, 6-1.

The Belgian four-time Grand Slam winner never earned a break point and saved a match point when serving at 5-0 in the second set. Kerber than served out the match at love.

Klijsters gave a brief wave to the crowd as she walked off the court to a loud round of applause. She was trying to advance to her fourth Wimbledon quarterfinal, but never reached the final at the All England Club.
