BVG Pune Open: Ankita to play Karman in semifinals

Ankita Raina and Karman Kaur Thandi won their quarterfinals in straight sets and set up a last-four clash in the $25000 BVG Pune Open ITF women’s championship on Thursday.

Ankita Raina bt Kai-Lin Zhang (Chn) 6-0, 6-0; Karman Kaur Thandi bt Valeriya Strakhova (Ukr) 7-6(9), 6-2; Eva Guerrero Alvarez (Esp) bt Jaqueline Adina Cristian (Rou) 6-2, 6-2; Tamara Zidansek (Slo) bt Marina Melnikova (Rus) 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.

Doubles, semifinals: Ankita & Karman bt Amina Anshba (Rus) & Paula Kania (Pol) 6-3, 6-3; Aleksandrina Naydenova (Bul) & Tamara Zidansek (Slo) bt Sharon Fichman (Can) & Katarzyna Piter (Pol) 6-1, 6-4.
