Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi defeated Australia's Paul Hanley and Bruno Soares of Brazil 6-4, 7-6(6) to advance to the quarterfinals of the doubles event at the Rogers Cup tennis tournament here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in the women's event at Toronto, Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina suffered a 2-6, 6-0, 10-7 first round defeat at the hands of Roberta Vinci and Sara Errani.
