Vaidehi Chaudari in semifinals

NEW DELHI: Vaidehi Chaudhari defeated Jing Yang of China 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 to make the girls semifinals of the ITF grade-5 junior tennis tournament at Kathmandu on Thursday.

Shivani Ingle also made the semifinals, while Mritunjay Badola, Atharva Sharma, Piyush Surendra Salekar and Kabir Manrai booked last-four slots in the boys section.

The results:

Boys (quarterfinals): Mritunjay Badola bt Dipin Wadhwa 6-0, 4-6, 6-2; Atharva Sharma bt Pengyu Lu (Chn) 6-3, 6-1; Piyush Surendra Salekar bt Michal Wozniak (Pol) 6-1, 7-5; Kabir Manrai bt Ishan Sethi 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Doubles (semifinals): Pengyu Lu & Guangsen Wen (Chn) bt Jaishvin Sidana & Adarsh Naga Tippabhatla 6-3, 6-4; Gunjan Jadhav & Atharva Sharma bt Mritunjay Badola & Dipin Wadhwa 7-6(5), 6-1.

Girls (quarterfinals): Vaidehi Chaudhari bt Jing Yang (Chn) 3-6, 6-1, 6-0; Yujiiao Che (Chn) bt Punnin Kovapitukted (Tha) 3-6, 6-2, 7-6(8); Minggiao Yang (Chn) bt Sharannya Gaware 6-1, 6-3; Shivani Ingle bt Mio Kozaki (Jpn) 6-4, 6-1.
