Somdev-Sanam enter Chennai Open semis

Close to midnight, there was some cheer for India as Somdev Devvarman and Sanam Singh combined well to make it to the semifinals of the doubles competition in the USD 400,000 ATP Aircel Chennai Open tennis tournament.

The Indian duo defeated Jeff Coetzee (South Africa) and Rogier Wassen (The Netherlands) 6-2, 6-3 to make up for the loss of the popular pair of Yuki Bhambri and Carlos Moya (Spain) who went down 5-7, 1-6 to Spaniards Marcel Granollers and Santiago Ventura in the quarterfinals.
