Serena commands WTA rankings

Wimbledon champion Serena Williams of the United States maintained first place in the latest women’s tennis rankings issued on Monday by the WTA.

Williams has 8,475 points as she leads the way from Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic (5,900) and her sister Venus Williams (5,606), who changed places with Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki (5,555).
