Former teenaged tennis sensation Martina Hingis married her French showjumping boyfriend, a Swiss celebrity magazine reported.

The 30-year-old Swiss who dominated the WTA as a teenager in the late 1990s married Frenchman Thibault Hutin, 24, on Friday, Schweizer Illustrierte reported on Sunday. It said only close family was present at the civil ceremony in Paris.

“Our wedding came as a surprise for many, but it has been in planning long in advance,” Hingis told the magazine. Hingis retired in 2007 after making a comeback from ankle and foot injuries a few seasons earlier. She quit after testing positive for cocaine, a charge she denied but added that she did not have the stomach to fight the accusation.

She has since devoted her time to showjumping, her newest sporting love.
