Oges Theyjo and Aditi Basker won the boys' and girls' titles in contrasting fashion in the The Hindu junior (under-12) tennis tournament at the Krishnan Tennis Centre here on Saturday.

Oges required just 46 minutes to beat L. Yeshwanth 6-1, 6-1 in the boys' final while Aditi staved off a tough challenge from Swathi Shiv Suresh 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-4 in the girls' summit clash.

Yeshwanth was able to win just one game in each set as Oges dominated the rallies from the baseline.

In the girls' final, Aditi took the first set in a tie-breaker. However, Swathi took a 4-1 lead in the second set and went on to level the match.

In the decider, Swathi sprayed balls all over the court in trying to out-hit her opponent. Aditi didn't do anything fancy as she just kept the ball on court and waited for her opponent to make mistakes. The move paid rich dividends.

The results (finals):

Boys: Oges Theyjo bt L. Yeshwanth 6-1, 6-1.

Girls: Aditi Basker bt Swathi Shiv Suresh 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-4.
