Opener Dimuth Karunaratne scored a composed unbeaten century and shared an unbroken 149 runs for the third wicket with Dinesh Chandimal as Sri Lanka reached 250 for two at stumps on the opening day of the first cricket test against the West Indies on Wednesday.
Karunaratne made 135 not for his third test century in his 22nd game facing 288 deliveries, hitting a six and 10 boundaries.
Chandimal brought up his ninth test half century and remained unbeaten on 72 at close. He faced 146 balls, hit a six and six boundaries.
Their partnership came off 49 overs.
Fast bowler Kemar Roach had 1-33 for the West Indies.
