The much awaited decision into the enquiry of the horses testing positive for steroid “Boldenone” concerning three trainers was taken last week by the Stewards of the RWITC.
The three trainers who were called for the enquiry are Pesi Shroff (Eloise placed third in the Indian 1000 Guineas run on Dec. 12, 2010), S.K.Sunderji (Ocean And Beyond winner of Indian 2000 Guineas run on Dec.19, 2010) and C.D.Katrak for two cases (1. Star Future ran second in the Indian 2000 Guineas run on Dec.19, 2010, 2. Amaretto ran second in the Gool S.Poonawalla Million run on Jan. 23, 2011).
The Stewards after interviewing all three trainers in the above cases, found that they had no mitigating circumstances to offer in the subject case and as such, held the trainers guilty of breach of the Medication Rules, consequently they became vicariously liable.
The Stewards decided to suspend all three Trainers as under: Pesi Shroff's license was suspended with immediate effect from Sept. 5 to Oct. 4 and also fined Rs. 10,000.
S.K.Sunderji's license was suspended from Sept. 5 to Oct. 19 and also fined Rs. 10,000.
C.D.Katrak's license was suspended for two offences (i) for Star Future he will be suspended from Sept. 5 to Oct. 19 and also fined Rs. 10,000. (ii) for Amaretto his license was further suspended from Oct. 20 to Jan. 2, 2012 and also fined Rs. 10,000.
