VMF wins 4-1

Charly Suarez floored rival Egkachai Prommaka with a right hook to the jaw for a knockout in lightweight category second round as Venky's Mumbai Fighters won the World Series Boxing 2011-12 eighth round home match 4-1 against Bangkok Elephants on Friday.

The Philippines boxer, swift and deadly in the ring, stung his southpaw rival in the first round and swung into action in the second.

The heavyweight bout saw Uaine Fa prowling around Anatoli Antoniuk for an opening, sneaking in for punches and smartly moving out of range.

VMF's boxer from New Zealand connected with mighty lefts against a defensive rival to emerge a clear winner. Mumbai Fighters has three wins from eight matches in Group A.

Middleweight Konstantin Snigour rattled Troy O Meley with combination punches, shaking the Bangkok fighter with power-packed rights to force an unanimous points verdict. VMF went 2-0 up when Leanid Charnabayeu was awarded a 3-0 verdict against faster Sergei Kuzmin in light heavyweight class.

The results: Middleweight: Konstantin Snigour (VMF) bt Troy O' Meley on pts 3-0; Light heavyweight: Leanid Charnabayeu (VMF) bt Sergei Kuzmin on pts 3-0; Bantamweight: Satjapron Jumroensan (BE) bt Mirbek Sherov on pts 3-0.

Lightweight: Charly Suarez (VMF) bt Edkachai Prommaka (KO); Heavyweight: Uanie Fa (VMF) bt Anatoli Antoniuk on pts 3-0.
