With Floyd Mayweather set to fight Conor McGregor in a boxing bout in August, the UFC stars gathered here are all excited about watching one of their own take on the legendary American pugilist. Brazilian Bethe Correia, whose bantamweight clash with American Holly Holm will be the main event of fight night here on Saturday, says it is going to be a tough fight for the Irishman.

Holm says it is unpredictable.

“One thing about fighting is that it’s really unpredictable. Anything can happen inside the ring,” said Holm.

Asked if the Mayweather-McGregor fixture — which pits a boxer against a mixed martial artist — will pave the way to more cross-over challenges, Holm said: “I feel fighting is the oldest sport in the book. It’s always going to be evolving. Whether it’s MMA or boxing, whatever it is, I feel it’s going to be something that’ll always be intriguing for people. So, there might be more cross-over challenges, I think.”

Correia praised McGregor for agreeing to the bout. “I love what McGregor does, and did, to get this fight,” she said. “I think when you have the confidence and want to get into something, you have to talk your way to get into it. So, I [applaud] Conor for getting this fight,” she said. “I think it’s going to be a really tough fight for Conor because Floyd has beaten some of the all-time greats like (Manny) Pacquiao. So I think he has to really keep his end strong for this fight.”

Correia does see one way the UFC lightweight champ might have a chance. “If he’s able to break Floyd’s movement, he may hurt Floyd with his hands,” she said.
