Siril, Meghana take honours

Top seed A.S.S. Siril Varma of Medak and Mani Meghana of Ranga Reddy won the boys' and girls' singles titles respectively in the AP sub-junior (under-13 years) badminton championship at Kadapa on Sunday.

The results (finals): Boys: A.S.S. Siril Varma bt Aniruda Sankar 21-11, 21-8. Doubles: G.S. Krishna Prasad & R. Satiwik Sai Raj bt G. Aditya Bapineedu & M. Tharun 21-14, 21-8. Girls: Mani Meghana bt K. Divyarsha 21-17, 21-15. Doubles: Mani Meghana & Prasi Jyoshi bt D. Asiya & D. Shabana Begum 23-21, 21-14.

OU inter-college sports

Osmania University inter-college volleyball championship for men will be held at V.V. College here on September 13 and 14.

It is also informed that the inter-college kabaddi championship for men will be held at Nehru Nagar Playground (Kachiguda) here on September 15 and 16.

Maneesh wins title

B.L. Maneesh Kumar of Defence Labs School emerged winner, despite tying with S. Nishok for the top place, with 5.5 points each by virtue of tie-break rule in the Brilliant Trophy chess championship here.

Sandeep Naidu won the open category title with 5.5 points while B. Vijaybhaskar and M.Y. Raju finished second and third
