Shahzar Rizvi ranked World No. 1 in ISSF World rankings

India’s 10m air pistol shooter Shahzar Rizvi on Tuesday grabbed the No. 1 spot in ISSF World rankings, riding on his silver medal-winning performance in the World Cup in Changwon, Korea.

With 1654 rating points, Rizvi shot to the top ahead of Russia’s Artem Chernousov (1046) and Japan’s Tomoyuki Matsuda (803). Besides silver in Changwon, Rizvi had won a gold medal with a World record score at the World Cup in Guadalajara, Mexico in March.

Other top-10 rankings: Men: 10m air pistol: Jitu Rai 6th; 10m air rifle rankings: Ravi Kumar 4th, Deepak Kumar 9th.

50m rifle 3-positions: Akhil Sheoran 4th, Sanjeev Rajput 8th.

Women: 10m air pistol: Manu Bhaker 4th; 10m air rifle: Mehuli Ghosh 7th. 50m rifle 3-positions: Anjum 8th .
