Saina Nehwal was stunned by Germany's Juliane Schenk in the semifinals as India's campaign came to an end in the Japan Open Super Series badminton tournament in Tokyo on Saturday.

Fourth-seeded Saina lost 19-21, 10-21 to her eighth-seeded rival in a contest lasting 39 minutes.

The results (semifinals):

Men: Lee Chong Wei (Mas) bt Peter Gade (Den) 21-13, 21-16; Chen Long (Chn) w/o Lin Dan (Chn).

Women: Wang Yihan (Chn) w/o Liu Xin (Chn); Juliane Schenk (Ger) bt Saina Nehwal (Ind) 21-19, 21-10.
