The All India Carrom Federation (AICF) conducted its election here on Sunday, as directed by the Delhi High Court, vide its judgement dated August 6.
After a prolonged case over the civil writ petition 3314/2016, when the AICF questioned the government’s order to disaffiliate the federation following the last election in 2015, the early election was conducted as desired by the judiciary.
Rakibul Hussain was re-elected as president while Bharti Narayan was elected as the first woman General Secretary of the federation. Both have played the game at least till the national level.
Arun Kedar was elected as the treasurer. Girish Bachharaj Vyas was elected the executive president.
