National tenpin bowling from today

A total of 145 bowlers will be seen in action at the Amoeba 27th National tenpin bowling championship, organised by Tenpin Bowling Federation (India), commencing here on Sunday.

Defending champion Dhruv Sarda (Delhi), Asian Championship silver medallist Shabbir Dhankot (TN), Commonwealth medallist S.A. Hammed (Delhi), local favourite Akaash Ashok Kumar are some of the big names who will compete in the men’s category.

In the women’s section, defending champion Sabeena Athica (TN) will be gunning for her 10th title.

Other top women bowlers include Sumathi Nallabantu (Telangana) and Karnataka State champion Judy Alban. The total prize money on offer is ₹7.50 lakh.
