Krishnamurthy wins title

South Western Railway's (Hubli), U. Krishnamurthy registered a facile 11-3, 11-4, 11-5 win over D.P. Gopinath of BNM, Bangalore and clinched the men's (40+) singles title in the Karnataka State veteran's table tennis tournament conducted by Parents Table tennis Academy at the Sri Kuvempu Vidyavardhaka Trust auditorium here on Sunday.

Men's singles:(40+): Final: U. Krishnamurthy (SWR) bt D.P. Gopinath (BNM) 11-3, 11-4, 11-3; Semifinals: D.P. Gopinath bt S.S.Sandeep (Bng) 7-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-9; Y. Krishnamurthy (SWR) bt Ravi Narayan G 11-4, 11-3, 11-5.

Men's singles: (50+) Final: B.S. Raghavendra (HTTA) bt B. Nataraj (HTTA) 12-14, 11-8, 11-9, 11-8.

Semi-finals: B.S.Raghavendra bt A.V. Nagaraj (HTTA) 11-8, 6-11, 11-7, 11-8; B. Natraj (HTTA) bt Rajen Kothari (Mys) 11-9, 11-7, 7-11, 9-11, 11-6.

Men's singles: (60+): Final: K.A. Udhayshankar (Bng) bt S.K. Balakrishna (Bng) 7-11, 11-7, 11-3, 11-4. Semifinals: K.A.Udhayshankar (Bng) bt Prakash Walvekar Bng) 11-3, 11-8, 11-6; S.K. Balakrishna (Bng) bt Udhayshar Rao (Bng) 11-6, 11-8, 8-11, 11-4.

Men's singles: (70+): K. Sathyanarayana (Bng) bt K.V. Krishnamurthy (Mys) 11-9, 11-8, 8-11, 11-6. Semifinals: K.V. Krishnamurthy (Mys) bt B.U. Krishnamurthy (Udupi) 11-8, 11-3, 11-7; K. Sathyanarayana (Bng) bt Sankarappa (Bng) 11-8, 11-3, 11-4.
