Defending champion Kerala and last year's runner-up Haryana women booked their places in the quarterfinals of the 14th National youth volleyball championship at the conclusion of Group ‘A' and ‘B' respectively, here on Thursday.
Karnataka (Group ‘A') and Jharkhand (Group ‘B') also moved into knock-out phase as the second teams. Tamil Nadu women, with nine points and a match against bottom-placed Gujarat to go, are expected to make it from Group ‘D'.
In the men's section, defending champion Uttar Pradesh is leading with two victories with two matches in hand. Last year's runner-up Tamil Nadu too won two matches in Group ‘B' and is better placed to make it to the knock-out.
