Quality guidance at a young age is the key to healthy growth in any sport. Keeping this in mind, the Athletes Committee of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), with the former World and Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra as the chairman, has brought out a comprehensive Athletes Handbook, for the benefit of shooters around the world.

The book in its digital form can be downloaded from the ISSF website.

The handbook answers 10 questions in each of the 11 chapters, addressing all aspects of the sport and beyond.

“The success of athletes and their effective participation is dependent on the timely professional guidance. Considering the range of topics covered, I believe this is a pioneering effort to present relevant information for the benefit of athletes around the world. I would like to commend Mr. Abhinav Bindra and the entire Athletes Committee, assisted by the GoSports Foundation team, for putting this together,” writes the president of the ISSF, Olegario Vazquez Rana.

“The creation of the ISSF Athletes Handbook is an honest attempt by the Committee to make a lasting contribution and I am thrilled to see it come to light,” writes Abhinav Bindra.

“We at the Athletes Committee, are pleased to have invested our efforts into this initiative. It is our humble contribution to a sport that has played an integral part of our lives and brought us much joy,” concludes Abhinav.

Double gold medallist in men’s rifle at the Rio Olympics, Niccolo Campriani, says: “The sport has not only given me moments to cherish but has also enabled me to become a better person along the way... I have focused more on enjoying the process of becoming better, both as an athlete and as an individual. The outcome at major competitions like the World Championships and the Olympic Games has always been just the consequence of that process.”
