Indian athletes reigned on the world arena this July

India's athletes brought home 227 international medals in just 31 days in July, 2019. The medals were won in discplines such as- athletics, wrestling, weightlifting, judo, badminton, boxing, table tennis, archery, para-shooting and shooting.

They were lauded by Indian sports minister Kiren Rijiju who took to twitter to congratulate the sportspersons, "July has been the month of medals for India. Our athletes won 227 medals in 9 disciplines at international events. India bagged medals in Athletics, Wrestling, Judo, TT, Badminton, Shooting, Parashooting, Archery & Weightlifting. @KirenRijiju Congratulates all the medallist."

India's 'Golden Girl' Hima Das was the first Indian sprinter to win a gold medal at an international track event. PV Sindhu was the runner up at the Indonesia Open.  Six-time world champion pugilist M.C. Mary Kom brought home another gold medal.
