D. Gukesh has a golden opportunity to become the world’s youngest chess Grandmaster.

The 12-year-old (born on May 29, 2006), who bagged his second GM norm by winning the closed GM round robin chess tournament in Paracin (Serbia) on Sunday, next plays in the Sunway chess festival beginning in Sitges (Spain) on December 12.

If he can get his final GM norm in that tournament, he will become the world’s youngest GM, beating Sergey Karjakin’s record of 12 years and 7 months. Gukesh has time till December 29.
