Bengaluru and Punjab in semifinals

Punjab Steelers and Bengaluru Beast entered the semifinals of the UBA Pro men’s basketball league at the Sathyabama University here on Wednesday.

Punjab and Bengaluru joined Mumbai Challengers and Pune Peshwas, who had already qualified for the last four.

In two exciting ‘play-in’ matches, Punjab overcame Delhi Capitals 102-92 while Bengaluru Beast edged out Hyderabad Sky 116-113.

The semifinals and final, which the UBA calls the Championship Series, will be held at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Bambolim, Goa from March 10 to 16.

Punjab Steelers 102 (Dermaine Crockrell 50, Garry Gill 11, Irakoze Bryan 10, P. Akilan 10, Rajveer Singh 13) bt Delhi Capitals 92 (Amjyot Singh 34, Ronald March 19, Muin Bek 10, Anil 12, Vinay Kaushik 14).

Bengaluru Beast 116 (Vishesh Bhriguvanshi 57, Palpreet Brar 27, Chris Solomon 17) bt Hyderabad Sky 113 (Tevin Kelly 40, Mahipal Singh 16, Mak Boskailo 16, Mahesh Padmanabhan 11, Joginder Singh 12, Aagosh Sharma 12).
