Saurabh Chaudhary was beaten to the men’s air pistol gold by a World record of 246.5 by Kim Song Guk of North Korea in the Asian shooting championship in Doha, Qatar, on Monday.

The Korea won by a two-point margin, even as he improved on Saurabh’s World record set in the Munich World Cup earlier this season, by 0.2 point.

Together with Abhishek Verma and Sharvan Kumar, Saurabh won the team bronze for India.

In the junior mixed air rifle event, Shreya Agrawal and Dhanush Srikanth won the gold, while the first qualification toppers, Khushi Saini and Hriday Hazarika finished fifth eventually.

In junior men’s skeet, Gurnihal Singh Garcha won the silver, and the team gold with Abhay Singh Sekhon and Ayush Rudraraju. Areeba Khan, Parinaaz Dhaliwal and Karttiki Shaktawat did not win the individual medals in junior women’s skeet, but won the team silver behind China.
