Arvind, Sindhu bow out

Indian shuttler Arvind Bhat lost to Hyun Il Lee of Singapore 19-21, 21-19, 15-21 in the men's singles second round of the German Open Grand Prix Gold in Mulheim an der Ruhr on Wednesday.

It was also curtains for P. Kashyap and Ajay Jayaram, both of whom had lost in the first round itself.

The results (involving Indians):

Men:Singles: Second round: Hyun Il Lee (Sin) bt Arvind Bhat 21-19, 19-21, 21-15.

First round: Anand Pawar bt Eetu Heino (Fin) 21-12, 21-16; Zi Liang Derek Wong (Sing) bt P. Kashyap 21-15, 23-21; Simon Santoso (Ina) bt Ajay Jayaram 21-9, 21-19; Jan O Jorgensen (Den) Saurabh Verma 19-21, 21-17 21-15.

Women: Singles: First round: Gu Juan (Sing) bt P.V. Sindhu 21-14, 21-15.

Mixed-doubles:First round: Wai Hong Wong/ Hoi Wah Chau (HK) bt V. Diju/ Jwala Gutta 18-21, 21-9, 21-19.
