Archery likely to be telecast

In order to popularise archery in India, the World Archery Federation (WA) has invited offers from Indian and sub-continental broadcasters for its world cup and world championship events.

Since India has shown progress in archery in recent years, including its performance in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, and is expected to do well in bigger competitions, WA, which has appointed Broadreach Media to assist it with the process, wants its elite events to be televised in the country.

The archery world cup, scheduled to take place in four rounds, will begin in Shanghai next month, while the world championship will be held in Antalya, Turkey, in September. WA is planning to telecast live coverage and highlight packages of these events.
