Pareek hogs the limelight

VIJAYAWADA: Manipal University’s Sarvesh Pareek won the overall championship in the men’s compound segment at the all-India inter-University archery championship by hauling 700 points at the Hindu College at Machilipatnam on Thursday.

Krishna University’s Naveen Kumar finished second with 693 points while Punjabi’s Lovejot Singh garnered 692 points to win the bronze.

Compound: Men, 50m (1): 1. Sarvesh Pareek (351); 2. Naveen Kumar (344); 3. Lovejot Singh (344); 50m (2): 1. Naveen Kumar (349); 2. Sarvesh Pareek (349); 3. Lovejot Singh (348); Overall: 1. Sarvesh Pareek (700); 2. Naveen Kumar (693); 3. Lovejot Singh (692).

Indian Round: Men, 50m: 1. Ajith Babu (Calicut) 316; 2. Anees Yadav (VBSPU, Jaunpur) 306; 3. Sunil Kumar (Kurukshetra) 302; 30m: 1. Shivam Kehsari (SSU, Varanasi) 334; 2. Sh. Girish Kukade (SB, Amaravati) 333; 3. Sutar Dhananjay (SPPU, Pune) 331.
