Promising 3,000 hours of ‘live’ coverage of the Olympics from Rio de Janeiro, Star Sports and Hotstar have lined up some of the biggest names in Indian sport for their expert analysis and opinion.
For instance, Prakash Padukone and Anjali Bhagwat will lend depth to ‘live’ badminton and shooting action from which India has big medal hopes. They will be joined by Olympians Viren Rasquinha for hockey, Rehan Poncha for swimming and Australian legend Ian Thorpe for swimming.
The telecast will be in English and Hindi.
Star Sports CEO Nitin Kukreja said viewers would not be charged extra for the coverage of the Olympics, and added that every medal event at the Games would be covered, with special focus on Indian participants.
Hotstar CEO Ajit Mohan said the 14 live video feeds would be on, going up to 36 when the action reaches a peak and would be available on demand.
