British Open in Asain qualifiers; Indians fail to make the cut

No Indian could earn a ticket to the prestigious British Open at the International Final Qualifying (Asia) as all of them finished outside the top four bracket here today.

Anirban Lahiri was highest-placed at tied 24th after returning a two-under 70 that left him two-over overall.

A stroke adrift was Rahil Gangjee, who carded a horrendous 77, to finish tied 30th.

Further down, it was another disastrous day for Gaganjeet Bhullar who followed up his first-round of 73 with an even worse 78 that left him seven-over and tied for the 40th spot.

C. Muniyappa was no better as he carded a 75 for a 15-over 159 total and a share of he 53rd spot. Himmat Rai didn't complete his round today and was tied for the 55th spot in the end.

Noh Seung-yul completed a sensational run after qualifying for the British Open with Malaysia's Danny Chia,

Japanese Hiroyuki Fujita and amateur Eric Chun of Korea.

Noh, winner of last week's Maybank Malaysian Open, claimed one of the four tickets to the world's oldest Major after closing with a four-under 68 in the tournament that was won by Fujita, who signed off with a 66 for a two-day total of 11-under 133 at the Saujana Golf and Country Club.
