‘Only to meet, not to talk’

October 20, 2015 04:00 am | Updated November 16, 2021 03:54 pm IST - Mumbai:

BCCI sources denied that president Shashank Manohar had invited the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shahryar Khan for talks in Mumbai. “The purpose was to meet the new BCCI president; Manohar did not go to Dubai for the ICC meetings on October 13. If he had gone, Shahryar Khan would have met him there. India’s representative in the ICC is N. Srinivasan,” said a senior BCCI official.  The former Pakistan diplomat Shahryar Khan had congratulated Manohar over phone from Kolkata after visiting Jagmohan Dalmiya’s family a few days ago.  The PCB has been pressing the BCCI to know the status of the MoU between the two Boards for a short series in the UAE in December.
