Michael Schumacher set the pace on the second day of Formula One pre-season testing at the Jerez Circuit track here on Wednesday.
The German driver used Mercedes' car from last year to clock an early morning lap of 1 min. 18.561 sec that proved unbeatable.
Schumacher said it was a good and productive test, full of useful information, and was now looking forward to driving the 2012 car for the first time at the next test.
Mark Webber came in second at 0.623 seconds in Red Bull's new 2012 vehicle.
Daniel Ricciardo of Toro Rosso was third, while Kimi Raikkonen was fifth after having the fastest lap on day one.
