Rajvirdhan takes honours

V. Rajvirdhan claimed the drivers' championship in the Indian Touring Cars class with a race to spare in the sixth and final round of the JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship at the MMRT in Irungattukottai near here on a rainy Saturday. He took the chequered flag for the fourth time in 11 starts this season.

Eighteen-year-old Diljith Shaji emerged champion in the Indian Junior Touring Cars class despite finishing outside the podium. Meanwhile, there was another twist in the Formula LGB Swift class as Ameya Walavalkar gained a seven-point lead by virtue of finishing fourth after championship leader R. Deepak failed to score.

Avdumber Hede took pole position for the first race of the Pole R Cup to be held on Sunday.
