Mars Racing's Saran Vikram and Sarosh Hataria (Meco Racing) grabbed the honours in the Formula Rolon category of the Volkswagen-JK Tyre National racing championship at the Madras Motor Race Track near here on Sunday.
While Saran won the first race, Sarosh came back strongly to finish first in the next race to make the premium category wide open for racers to have a chance at the championship title.
After four rounds, Saran (33 points) leads the points table by just three points over veteran Chennai driver Sarosh, who is in second place with 29 points.
Vishnu Prasad (Amaron Pro Racing) also tallies 29 points in four rounds but Sarosh is placed second for his two wins in the earlier rounds.
Sailesh Bolisetti of Visakhapatnam was the cynosure of all eyes as he excelled in both Super Saloons and Volkswagen-Polo Cup events. Sailesh won both the races in the Super Saloons class and secured the chequered flag in the first race of the Polo Cup.
