Even as excitement picks up for the Petronas-FIA Asian GP, which returns to Chennai after a gap of 12 years to the Irungkattukottai track, the Red Rooster Racing squad is all geared up to make mark in the fourth round between September 4 to 6. Red Rooster is the only Indian team in the fray.

The FIM event is Asia’s premiere motorcycle road racing championship, featuring two exciting race classes -Underbone 4-stroke, single cylinder and Supersport 4-stroke, 4 cylinders. It is the only championship to attract the participation from the best riders from Australia, Great Britain and New Zealand apart from the host countries. Introduced in 1997, the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship is sanctioned by the Federation Internationale Motocycliste (FIM) as the FIM’s Continental Championship for Asia. .

Team Director Amit Sandill remarked, “I would like to see our riders do well. They will ride hard and tough. Being a home race, there are both advantages as well as disadvantages, optimum level. The team’s Managing Director, Dinesh Reddy, said “Red Rooster Racing’s participation in the FIM Asian GP is a great milestone since this is the first time an Indian team is participating. Every other year there have been individual participations.
