Red Bull pair Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber have set the two fastest times in Friday’s practice for the Singapore Grand Prix.

Vettel’s best lap was an impressive six tenths of a second faster than Webber and a second faster than third-place Jenson Button of McLaren.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso had to end his session early after he went down an escape road and couldn’t restart the car. Alonso had looked set to better Vettel’s time but ended up fourth fastest.

McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton was fifth best, with the five top drivers in the championship standings the five fastest in the session - setting the stage for a hard-fought qualifying on Saturday.
