Groundbreaking at the 5.5-kilometres track with 20 turns in Wandering Creek, south east of Austin, started on December 30. The course is built by American architectural company HKS together with German Hermann Tilke, who has been responsible for most of the last new tracks such as in South Korea and Turkey.
