Formula One world champion Jenson Button expects a big improvement at next week’s Melbourne Grand Prix following his McLaren debut.
The Briton opened the season with seventh place in Bahrain last Sunday. He finished four places behind teammate Lewis Hamilton and was more than 6 seconds slower than race winner Fernando Alonso for Ferrari.
Button says that he “will feel more comfortable within the car when we arrive in Melbourne.”
Button and Hamilton agree the Australian circuit will suit their cars better than the remodelled Bahrain track.
Speaking at the launch of a range of commercial McLaren sports cars, Hamilton said the drivers “drilled into the engineers that we dissect everything.”
