International stunt driver Terry Grant from the United Kingdom will enthral the crowd on Sunday with his jaw-dropping stunts.

Hyderabad’s Anindith Reddy came up with a stunning double victory in the race for the Euro JK 16 cars, the premium class of the 19th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam here on Saturday.

The 26-year-old, with his double win, has now climbed up to the third spot in the championship table. With two more races scheduled for Sunday, the gritty youngster is expected to continue with his good performances and may well threaten the table toppers as they head for the final round at the Buddh International Circuit next month.

Sheer pace and skill

Anindith did not have a great qualifying round but exhibited sheer pace, skill and determination on his way to winning the much-talked about races for the day. He clearly made-up for his disastrous second round, in which he collected just five points, at the very same circuit last month.

“I decided to play it safe in the first lap after what happened in the last round. And, it was also a question of being consistent,” said Anindith.

Bangalore’s Ananth Shanmugam and Mumbai’s Mohammed Nalwalla finished for the next two positions in both the races.

But it was a rather quiet day for championship leader Nayan Chatterjee of Mumbai. He had to rest content with the fourth spot in both races and still holds a slender four-point edge over Ananth Shanmugam.

However, there was no such surprises in the LGB Formula 4 and JK Touring car categories. Both Vishnu Prasad and Asish Ramaswamy won their respective categories with a bit of ease.

Terry to enthral crowd

Meanwhile there was something extra special for the spectators on Sunday. JK Tyre has roped in international stunt driver Terry Grant for the big occasion.

The 23-time world record holder from the United Kingdom is expected to come up with a new set of jaw-dropping stunts that may well have the crowd on the edge of their seats.

Terry is regarded as the greatest performers in the business having performed for some of the biggest car manufacturers across the world.

The results (provisional, day one): Euro JK 16: Race 1: 1. Anindith Reddy 15:47.319; 2. Ananth Shanmugam 15:49.236; 3. Mohammed Nalwalla 15:53.799. Race 2: 1. Anindith 17:20.512; 2. Ananth 17:22.979; 3. Mohammed 17:23.637.
