The host Young Stars Sports Club (A) entered the quarterfinals of the inter-State invitational hockey tournament at Gangadhar Nagar Hockey Ground here on Friday.
In the first league match, the host team routed Mysore 6-2. Rakesh Gokak and Bijju Yerakal scored two goals each and Raghu Goravar and Gola Mailari scored a goal each for YSSC. Sughu Chengeppa and Dhanvantari scored one goal each for the Mysore team.
Later, the host team trounced Kolhapur 8-0. After Jitendra Bagade scored the first goal, Bijju Yerakal, Mithun Bijawad and Naveen Kushal scored two goals each. Naveen Manapate scored the other goal.
In other matches, Bagalkot defeated Gadag 2-1 and beat KGF, Kolar 1-0.
