Olympic qualifiers ticket sale starts

The online sale of tickets for the Olympic hockey qualifiers, to be held at the National Stadium here from February 18 to 26, started on Thursday.

Tickets worth Rs.300 and Rs.500 are available for the five days of round robin league matches. A ticket will be valid for all the six matches to be played each day. For the classification matches on February 25 (women) and February 26 (men), tickets have been priced at Rs. 400 and Rs. 1000 per day.

In order to encourage the hockey fans to watch the Indian teams in action, matches of the host have been scheduled at 6 p.m. (women) and 8 p.m. (men) during the round robin stage.

The International Hockey Federation (FIH) revised the schedule after Singapore took the place of USA in the men's competition. As per the revised fixture, India would open its campaign against Singapore on Feb. 18 before meeting Italy the next day. Earlier, the home team was scheduled to take on Italy in its opening match.
