Gagan Ajit Singh for Sher-e-Punjab

Former India captain and striker Gagan Ajit Singh will make his comeback with Sher-e-Punjab in the World Series Hockey, commencing on February 29. The second round of player draft was held on Friday.

A dynamic striker with a devastating turn of speed, he made more than 200 appearances for India, including the 2000 Sydney and 2004 Athens Olympics. He led India at the 2005 Champions Trophy and played club hockey in the Netherlands later.

Other notable picks were Canadian captain Ken Pereira, Argentinean Mario Almada (Pune Strykers), Australian Mark Harris, Indian Hamza Mujtaba (Chennai Cheetahs), Aussie Troy Sutherland, South African Clyde Abraham (Mumbai Marines).

WSH release, quoting Gagan Ajit Singh, said, “I'm glad to make a comeback through this league. I can't wait to get started for Sher-e-Punjab.”
